Kyoko Mori

Born in Japan, moved to San Diego in 1990. Kyoko has been enjoying hair designing for the past 17 years. Trained in Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon Academy. She specializes in personalized style enhancement suitable for each client where she takes great consideration on clients’ life styles, facial features, skin tones and desired look. Kyoko’s goal is to create exciting fashion transformation for each client that is easy-to-duplicate.

Cindy Adra

Cindy is a master haircutter who has been in the hairstyling industry for her whole life. Cindy came to San Diego in 1972 from New York City and before that Connecticut. She opened her first salon in Del Mar in 1980 and grew that to two more salons- the last salon evolving into a full service day spa. Since developing an apprentice program to train and mentor new stylists she has seen many of them go on to open their own businesses. Recently, she sold her salon in order to focus on doing what she does best and what drew her to the business in the beginning, cutting and styling hair.

She has trained at the Tony and Guy Academy in London,Bumble and Bumble University in New York as well as Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles. Her editorial work includes features in San Diego magazine, Trade publications and hair styling for film and and fashion shows and a stint with the San Diego Opera working with wigs for the actors.

Theresa Conaway

Theresa has been providing fabulous hair in Solana Beach for over 9 years. She is Toni & Guy certified in cutting and has a strong knowledge in the latest color techniques by Loreal Professional. Theresa has great experience in formal styling for bridal and special events. She has worked on professional photo shoots and has been behind the scenes at fashion shows and local benefits. Theresa has a very strong passion for the industry and a genuine love for making her clients look beautiful!

Cary West

Cary graduated from the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles in 1984. In 1985, Cary was further educated with the Sassoon Company in London in advanced haircoloring and haircutting.

Over her 26 years as a licensed cosmetologist, Cary has worked at several well established salons where she build solid clienteles. She has had 2 years of experience working on the Windstar and Renaissance Cruise Ships in Europe as chief cosmetologist.

In 1999, Cary worked as Bridal Hair and Make-Up specialist at Grand Weilea Resort in Maui. With her extensive training in cutting, coloring and color correction, she always welcomes new clients and truly loves listening and pleasing to achieve the best result.

Renee Anderson

Renee has been a licensed manicurist for 25 years. She has been serving North County San Diego for 12 years. She specializes in natural manicures and pedicures. Renee’s clients are throughly impressed by the longevity of her nail polish application. Renee’s quirky personality and loyal client base has been a key to her success in Solana Beach.

Leniely Wilson

For almost a decade now in the skincare industry, Leniely, a native islander of Guam, has been specializing in the art of waxing. Upon graduating from Je Boutique Academy in 2000, Leniely began her esthetician career at a successful Aveda Lifestyle Salonspa in San Diego. It was there where she fell in love with waxing. During the several years of employment, she developed her own unique style and techniques and slowly built a loyal clientele base, mainly through word of mouth. In 2007, she opened Bare Waxing Studio and nestled herself within the beautiful seaside community of Solana Beach.

Aside from her niche in hair removal, she also enjoys performing an array of other complimenting esthetic services. She still enjoys attending annual tradeshows and workshops to keep abreast with everchanging trends in her industry. She is trained and certified in Xtreme Lashes and Alexandria Sugaring and continues her education with her favorites such as PCA, Bioelements, and 302 Skincare, to name a few.

With her skills ranging from designing brows to perfect symmetry, depilating the body of hair to create a beautiful smooth canvas, meticulously applying lashes for red carpet glamour, or to concocting the perfect facial ingredients or peels for achieving flawlessness, Esthetician Leniely can deliver her many expertise to helping clients look their best. “I never thought I’d end up on this path. Michelle Young

Michelle is the newest member of the Benten Salon team. She was born and raised in Southern California and has been interested in the beauty industry her entire life. After Managing in Customer Service and Retail Sales for nearly 10 years, Michelle decided it was time to make a change and finally pursue a career in Cosmetology.

Michelle started her training at Palomar Institute of Cosmetology in San Marcos and graduated from Poway Academy of Hair Design in 2009. She is trained in both the Pivot Point & Vidal Sassoon hair cutting methods and is certified with MUD – Make Up Designory as a Professional Make-Up Artist.

Currently, Michelle is Assisting Kyoko Mori, Owner of Benten Salon. She is constantly being educated with Toni & Guy Haircutting and L’Oreal Professional Color & Product classes. Michelle enjoys a challenge and is regularly working towards her goal of becoming a well rounded Hair Stylist and Make-Up Artist.
